Stella Ahangi ist seit den Neunzigern fester Bestandteil der deutschen Chansonszene. Insbesondere durch ihre Interpretationen internationaler Chansons kann sie auch Erfolge im europäischen Ausland vorweisen.
Ihr Debut gab sie 1995 im Kölner ARTtheater. In ihren ersten Programmen vertonte Stella Ahangi ausschließlich eigene Lyrik, später kamen "Anleihen" von Fassbinder, Wondratschek, Enzensberger und Übersetzungen russischer Balladen von Wolf Biermann hinzu.
Aber die Cosmopolitin wollte mehr. Sie recherchierte Lieder und Chansons aus ganz Europa und sprengte somit den chansonalen Horizont. Dabei half ihr, dass sie mehrere Sprachen ihr eigen nennt und andere problemlos phonetisch umsetzen kann. Damit war ein neuer Stil geprägt und das Tor zur Weltmusik geöffnet.
Ihr aktuelles Programm Voyage d'amour ist eine Hommage an die europäische Chansontradition. In zwölf Sprachen singend entführt sie ihr Publikum auf eine Reise von Ost nach West. Dabei wird Stella Ahangi von kongenialen und internationalen Musikern begleitet.
Kopenhagen, Wien, Berlin, Gran Canaria, Köln, Bern - das sind nur einige Stationen, in denen Voyage d'amour präsentiert wurde.
Die aktuelle CD "Voyage d´amour" zum Programm ist 2010 bei Trommelfell-Records erschienen.

Stella Ahangi is already multicultural because of her heritage (Germany-Persia-Armenia). Her artistic soul is connecting orient and occident. With her music she signifies the variety of european cultures and with her new program VOYAGE D'AMOUR she bends a bow from Bosporus to Lisboa and travels from metropolis to metropolis. Stella Ahangi wants to build bridges of understanding; bridges from nation to nation, from human to human - her dream: that nations may find each others like lovers! Therefore love is the main subject in the songs of Stella Ahangi - sorrow, joy and passion are felt the same all over the world, but the way to express these feelings varies in colourful nuances. Stella Ahangis concept is instrumented by high-classed artists. According to the size of event from minimalistic arrangements up to string orchestra, a musical kaleidoscope is arising.
